Genshin Impact Windtrace: Seekers and Strategy Guide (2024)

Genshin Impact Windtrace event is back and better than ever! Well, that’s mostly up to personal preference but the multiplayer hide-n-seek minigame is back in Teyvat with a twist from the usual formula.

If it’s your first time getting into the game mode or if you’re a Genshin Impact Windtrace seasoned veteran, there’s a lot you need to know about the game. With the updated mechanics to the rewards, it’s worth checking out even if you’re not typically a fan of mini-game events in Genshin Impact.

And if you’re looking for a Genshin Impact top up of some Primogems in addition to the ones earned from Genshin Windtrace, U7BUY is your place to check out for the best deals. That said, let’s get straight into it!

Genshin Impact Windtrace Gameplay & Updated Mechanics

Genshin Windtrace gameplay mechanics remain largely the same focusing on a ‘hide and seek’ gameplay against other live players. It’s one of the only game modes in Genshin that allows you to play against other players and it is a fun time once you get the hang of it.

But instead of just hiding and seeking, this time Genshin Impact Windtrace implements a Dead by Daylight style gameplay mechanic where the ‘Rebels’ have to activate ‘Signalling devices’ to win.

Whereas the ‘Hunter’ is after the gosh-darned Rebels to capture and eliminate them before 4 Signalling devices are repaired. There are 6 devices around a pretty small map but with a variety of Windward Arts to conceal and disguise yourself, it shouldn’t be too bad.

If the Hunter catches you, you’ll get detained in a ‘Surveillance Zone’ which other Rebel players can release you from. But get caught one more time and you’ll be eliminated from the match for good.

It’s an interesting little twist to the standard hide-and-seek we’re used to in Windtrace Genshin Impact, but whether it’s a welcome change remains to be seen. Though it’s still worth checking out for the rewards alone!

The Rewards

Now comes the moment you’ve all been waiting for, what rewards can you gain for playing Genshin Impact Windtrace? Luckily, there are plenty of rewards for the time you spend hiding and seeking in the game mode.

Chief among them are Primogems, everyone’s favorite rewards! You can also earn Hero’s Wit, Weapon Ascension Materials, Talent Materials, Mora, and more. Playing the event will earn you Genshin Impact Windtrace Coins which can be used to claim rewards depending on how many Windtrace Coins you’ve earned.

We’ve also done the math to see how much Primogems you can really earn with the event and it’s safe to say it’s a sizable amount. In total, you can earn up to 420 Primogems.

It’s not a groundbreaking amount, but it will be a sizable contribution to your banner pull savings!

Some Tips for Genshin Windtrace: Seekers and Strategy

Since how many Genshin Impact Windtrace Coins you earn are determined by your in-match performance, it can be a bit tricky to win constantly. So here are some tips you can try to better yourself and win more Genshin Impact Windtrace matches:

  • Misdirect the Hunter: At certain repair intervals of the Signalling Device, it will enter a ‘High-Speed’ Signalling mode which will alert the Hunter and blink on the map indicating someone is at the Signalling Device. Normally this would be a bad thing since it gives away your position. But if you start repairing and notice it blinking, run away to another device. More often than not, Hunters will rush over to the blinking device only to find no one around!
  • Game the Devices: Each Signalling Device will only blink twice for the entire round. The device will ring a second time at 70% repair completion, at which time you should head on out of there to work on another Signaling Device before coming back and completing it safely.
  • Pick a Shorty: To optimize your movement as a Hunter, you’ll want a ‘Medium’ male character like Albedo or Kazuha. They’re among the fastest in the game, and combined with a constant bunny hop as you sprint will allow the fastest movement possible. This should help you round up the Rebels easier.

And that’s pretty much everything you need to know about the latest Genshin Impact Windtrace event re-run. But if you’re missing any characters or weapons in the game from past banners that you just need to have, check out U7BUY to buy Genshin accounts with everything you’re looking for!
